About Tazewell County Criminal History

Tazewell County criminal records are divided among the sheriff, the Circuit Court, the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification, the Illinois Department of Corrections, and the Illinois Sex Offender Registry. Each office holds a different part of the record. This private reference site organizes the official portals, addresses, phone numbers, and request routes so readers can identify the proper custodian without searching several government sites first.

Why We Built This Site

Illinois makes many records available, yet access depends on choosing the custodian that created or maintains the item. The Tazewell County Sheriff controls current jail and warrant information and responds to requests for its agency records. The Circuit Clerk keeps filed charges, dockets, orders, and dispositions. The Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification maintains the state repository, while the Illinois Department of Corrections and Illinois Sex Offender Registry serve separate custody and registration purposes. We bring those official access points, request instructions, contacts, and published fees into one county-focused resource.

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, not part of an Illinois court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Those boundaries mean we cannot perform government services:

  • We do not issue certified court documents, criminal-history transcripts, or other official copies
  • We cannot submit a FOIA request, expungement petition, sealing petition, or other filing for a visitor
  • We do not retrieve a person's criminal record or conduct an official background check
  • We cannot interpret a charge or advise anyone about a particular legal matter
  • We cannot promise that an agency's hours, fees, addresses, or phone numbers have not changed

An official record must come from its custodian, such as the Tazewell County Sheriff, the Circuit Clerk, or Illinois State Police. This site can identify that office, but it cannot produce the document.

Search Partners

Third-party companies operate the search boxes shown on some pages. They control their services, results, and prices. If a visitor follows one of those tools and purchases a service, this site may receive a referral fee that supports free access to the reference material. We do not determine a partner's charges or the content of its results.
